Referencing the KliK Foundation

The KliK Foundation must be referenced in every communication activity relating to a project supported by the KliK Foundation. The following are examples of recommendations on how the emission reductions achieved by a project should or should not be communicated. If possible, reference should be made to the KliK Foundation's website. Ideally, the KliK Foundation should be presented in an info box or in a short text using the logo.

Spelling of the KliK Foundation

When mentioning the KliK Foundation, please note the following:

  • Correct naming: Foundation for Climate Protection and Carbon Offset KliK

  • The 'K' in KliK is written in capital letters

  • The 2 in CO2 is subscripted: CO₂

  • The name of the Foundation should be written out in full once within the communication

  • The following abbreviation is permitted: KliK Foundation


The following spellings should be avoided when mentioning the KliK Foundation:

  • 'KliK' detached from 'Foundation'

  • Klik, kliK, klik

The Foundation for Climate Protection and Carbon Offset KliK supports climate-friendly technologies and innovations with funding and expertise and helps to reduce a significant proportion of the greenhouse gas emissions generated in Switzerland.

The Foundation for Climate Protection and Carbon Offset KliK fulfils the legal obligation of the petroleum associations to fulfilling the legal obligation of the industry to offset motor fuels. To this end, the KliK Foundation finances climate protection activities that demonstrably reduce greenhouse gases.

The following wording is recommended as part of a communication measure:

Wording on the emissions reductions achieved

When communicating the emissions reductions achieved, it must be clearly stated that they were achieved with the support of the KliK Foundation, that they are reported as the impact of statutory fuel compensation or that they contribute to improving the Swiss greenhouse gas balance.

The following ways of speaking are recommended:

  • The emission reductions achieved with the project are reported as the impact of statutory fuel compensation.

  • Our project is part of the proven impact of statutory fuel compensation.

  • Thanks to the support of the KliK Foundation, the project will reduce x tonnes of CO₂ per year / x tonnes of CO₂ by 2030.

  • Thanks to the financial support of the KliK Foundation, we supply CO₂-free thermal energy.

  • We supply CO₂-free thermal energy and thus contribute to the impact of statutory fuel compensation.

  • Thanks to the financial support of the KliK Foundation, we are travelling CO₂-free.

  • We drive CO₂-free and thus contribute to the impact of statutory fuel compensation.

  • Thanks to the financial support of the KliK Foundation, our cooling is climate-friendly.

  • Our cooling is climate-friendly and thus contributes to the impact of statutory fuel compensation.

  • Thanks to the financial support of the KliK Foundation, you can save fossil energy with us.

  • With us, you can save fossil energy and thus contribute to the impact of statutory fuel compensation.

  • The financial support from the KliK Foundation helps us implement our climate strategy of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by x%.

The following ways of speaking should be avoided:

  • “We” statements without reference to the KliK Foundation or the statutory fuel compensation scheme.
